Doing Digital History

The primary goal for students inĀ  History 251: Doing Digital History was to learn to
use digital tools and approaches to ask and answer questions about the past.
With a focus on slavery and Reconstructions, students learned new methods
and analytic frames to understand and research American history.

The final projects listed here are the students’ digital portfolios,
created throughout the semester. Within them, students experiment with
new tools in researching history, such as text-mining, mapping, image analysis,
web-based presentation, and historical data mining.
